First Cut! Youth Film Festival

FLIPFEST 2023

This year with First Cut I did a series of animation workshops. Workshops were delivered to five different schools where participants learnt about the history of stop motion while creating their own hand drawn flip books and optical toys. The participating schools were St John the Baptist School, Midleton Educate Together School, St Colmans, CBS Secondary School and Midleton College.

This project is researching the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the everyday lives, education and relationships of primary school children aged 9-11 (UK school years 5 to 6). I ve been busy making fun animated shorts that explain the 6 creative activities. Getting help and inspiration from my team of young artists. Also creating 6 worksheets to go with each activity.
