Belinda Walsh

Having travelled extensively over land and sea for many years, I returned to Cork and graduated with an honours degree from Crawford College of Art and Design in 2012.

While at college I developed a special interest in the use of stop motion animation techniques as a visual education tool for children, adults and community groups.

Since 2007, I have been facilitating art and animation classes, encouraging creativity through drawing painting and sculpture. We use various techniques such as Claymation, pixilation, paper cut out, puppet and time lapse animation to bring the artwork to life. I am interested in the development of these stop motion animation techniques an educational teaching aid and as a fun  way for children and adults to communicate stories and ideas.

I work part time in East Cork Music Project as an arts worker supporting and developing the artisitIc skills of young people between the ages of 16 and 23.

I also deliver lectures and practical projects on 'ICT in the early years','The Creative Child' and Arts in Education' modules for Higher Diploma in Arts and BA Hons in Early Years Montessori Education, St.Nicholas Montessori College, Cork and Dublin.

In 2014, myself and a group of friends founded Midleton Arts Festival. As an active coordinator, I enjoy bringing people together to create public art projects and am continually looking for ways to integrate art and creativity into the daily life of my community.
